I appreciate all the calls I have received from folks checking to see if I was ok after the latest round of tornados. We had quite a theatrical evening last week when the storms came through. My house took what felt like a direct hit of lightening (or close). I learned early to have lots of surge protectors.

I live in a valley. Every time the tornados are headed straight for us, they appear to instead swerve around the perimeter of the valley and miss us. As the thunder rolls and the lightening cracks, I think of TD Jakes’ childhood story of his grandmother pulling him and his siblings under the bed in Mississippi while she chanted, “The storm is passing over, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!”
