Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am an enthusiastic user of your services and appreciate what you do.
I was dismayed to open my latest netflix and see an ad for Showtime’s show Dexter: The Return of Americas Favorite Serial Killer. It is hard enough to create a decent home and community, without inviting into it a mailing that glorifies serial killers. Please rethink your ad policy. I can chose to not watch shows like Dexter and I can ignore their ads on the highway. It is a completely different matter to find that I have allowed this ad into the intimacy of my own home.
Regards,
Catherine Austin Fitts

Even worse, there is a giant billboard on I-95 just south of Philadelphia for this horror glorifying, mind numbing piece of trash.

I completely agree. Our most important investments and decisions are those in which we make in and for our families. We need to rethink who we are where we are headed and if it is a place that we want to be. I am tired of Hollywood and producers that try to force feed us. The problem is that we have become apathetic to it all and have allowed things to evolve. It is signs such as this that create the lure that creates a look that creates a lust that leads to a longing that will turn into our demise all the while someone is getting rich off of it. We all need to stand and stand firm to our convictions no matter the cost. I am a father of 4 under the age of 11 and will fight as hard as I can to protect each one.
Thanks for listening and continue to use your platform to promote family values.

Switch to Blockbuster by mail. Much less likely to see ads like that since families are their bread and butter.

Interesting.

Rock on lady. I completely agree.
I understand Netflix’s desire for an additional revenue stream through ads, and I have no problems with advertisements for Walmart or “Superman Returns” in my envelope.
However, when I open up an envelope containing a children’s movie, I don’t want to see a serial killer’s blood-splattered face. It’s gross *and* trashy– I expect better from Netflix.
I vote with my wallet. I don’t subscribe to cable/satellite television because it’s expensive, the content is mostly low quality, there is too much advertising and too many violent programs.
I’ve been a happy Netflix subscriber for many years. I use Netflix because it allows me to be more active in choosing the content that I see. It’s a great value for the price.
Netflix is great. I hope they make wiser decisions in the future.
