One of the challenges of building a map of reality is knowing what you don’t know. For years, I have subscribed to a service called United Readers, which allows me to try many different magazines, dipping into lots of different worlds that I might not otherwise experience in my daily life and work.
One of the magazines that I tried was Men’s Health. It’s motto is "Tons of useful stuff." That is a great description. Men’s Health is published by Rodale, Inc. in Pennsylvania, a fascinating family business.
Now I am a Men’s Health subscriber. While the magazine is clearly oriented to men, many of the health and financial articles are quite useful for women as well. Here is my top pick from the April 2008 issue.
