U.S. Loses Top App Revenue to Japan Thanks to Five Companies
By Michael del Castillo
The United States is no longer tops in global app revenue, ceding the position to Japan thanks to five major companies, according to an App Annie report published today. In the month of October Japan’s combined monthly revenue for both iPhone and Android phones was just shy of $350 million compared to the United States that generated a bit more than $300 million. And it doesn’t look like the U.S. will regain the lead anytime soon, in spite of having more than twice the number of people.
