What reforms should a presidential candidate propose?

Someone just asked me for a comment on a Presidential candidate’s policies to reform the sub-prime mortgage market. Here are the items I suggested.
1. Return currency issuance to the US Treasury;
2. Require all government accounting and information and payments systems to be run by government systems and workers — no outside contracting with corporations and banks; do the same for systems now under the control of the Federal Reserve;
3. Require all government contract budgets and contracts with private banks and corporations be posted on the web;
4. Require that government budgets, including credit portfolios and originations, be published on a place based basis in addition to traditional functional methods;
5. Fire the NY Fed as depository for the US government;
6. Identify all missing money and assets from government accounts since fiscal 1995 and take steps to achieve restitution through common law right of offset, seizure and other means;
7. Reform investment laws to improve the ability of pension funds to refuse to do business with entities that they believe may be criminal or responsible for losses and to improve the ease with which investors can facilitate investment locally.

Catherine,
Thanks so much for all that you do. Your financial reforms cut right through the fat, and to the bone. Fire the NY Fed – wow, that leaves me speechless.
I have passed on to many friends your articles on Dillon Read but have had few takers. In C.S. Lewis’ book “The Last Battle” the Dwarves act a lot like my friends and family. After they have all been pushed through the door into Narnia, the dwarves refuse to see what is around them. They are infuriated by Lucy when she puts fresh cut flowers under their noses, accusing her for shoving manure and straw in their faces.
Please know that your work is very much appreciated. You are bringing light to the dark corners of many minds. It might not always be welcome, but it is sorely needed.
Best Wishes and Merry Christmas

I second (and third) Dave’s accolades to dear Catherine.
I recently met some commodities traders/radio show hosts who are on to the Fed, the fiat money, etc. They are educating their listeners and clients. I emailed them the link to Catherine’s video on the falling dollar.
I emailed that link also to some peace activists and other friends. I am getting positive responses. One lady said she was passing it on to all her family members. Another said she had never spent so much time at the computer, all in one sitting. So the video may be the way to get people’s attention, Dave.
People who are watching their pension plans and investments in peril, are finally interested. (In the past few years, I have sent many folks articles by Catherine, and about Solari, and heard little or nothing back.)
HURRAY for the sunshine in our lives brought to us by courageous, brilliant Catherine and Solari.Blessings, Birthday hugs, Love,
Addi
