“When we lie, we create demonic beings. As we create them, we have the task to metamorph – to transform them.” ~Thomas Meyer on the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner

~ Money & Markets is posted commentary here.~

By Catherine Austin Fitts

This week on The Solari Report, we publish my conversation with Thomas Meyer last month when I joined him to attend the Sofia Opera’s production of Wagner’s opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen or the Ring as well as a related lecture by Thomas.

Wagner’s Ring explores many of the issues we discuss on the Solari Report, including the competition to control planetary gold inventories, the use and abuse of power and governance, and the importance of family wealth. These four operas remind the audience that the challenges that we face today have been with us for many centuries.

Thomas is the head of Perseus Publishing in Basel, Switzerland, which publishes The Present Age. He has joined me several times on the Solari Report – earlier this year to discuss the future of Europe, last summer for a discussion of how to confront evil – and the year before to introduce us to Rudolf Steiner.

I am always informed and inspired when talking with Thomas and meeting the wonderful people he attracts to his events, gatherings, and operatic adventures.

In Let’s Go to the Movies, I recommend the classic British miniseries Wagner for those who want to learn more about the life and times of German composer Richard Wagner. This lengthy epic, originally released in 1983, stars Sir Richard Burton as Wagner, and features an all-star cast, including Vanessa Redgrave, Laurence Olivier and Gabriel Byrne.
