3rd Quarter 2021 Wrap Up – Equity Overview & Rambus Chartology with Jason T. Worth

“I realize that many investors are bearish on the stock markets and that is understandable since our current secular bull market began in 2009. How can the stock markets keep going up? It is called the wall of worry.” ~ Rambus, October 10, 2021

By Catherine Austin Fitts

This coming week, Jason T. Worth will join me to discuss the state of the equity and financial markets and review Rambus Chartology. Because of the level of uncertainty in the markets right now, we will go over the mechanics and pros and cons of hedging equity positions. This is a topic that I have spent a lot of time working through on many occasions. Coming out of the 2007 – 2008 financial crisis, many investors were not comfortable taking the risk of major corrections in the equity markets. At the same time, the end of the long-term bull market in bonds was pushing investors toward equity and equity returns. Hedged equity offers a compromise strategy – but one that has been expensive in a bull market that has continued to move higher. I will record this interview on Tuesday, so I include questions that subscribers post here by Monday.

Jason has been a regular contributor to the Solari Report for years, writing many book reviews as well as contributions to numerous Wrap Ups. Jason has an AB from Harvard University in Russian and Soviet Studies, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has more than 30 years of experience in finance and operations. He worked as an investment banker at Hambrecht & Quist and Kidder Peabody as well as, briefly, JPMorgan Chase when they acquired Hambrecht. As an investment banker, he helped growth companies raise capital through public and private equity offerings, and advised on mergers and acquisitions. After leaving the investment banking world, he provided similar services “in-house” as a corporate development professional at two large publicly traded firms in Las Vegas and Pennsylvania. Jason also led a successful eight-year entrepreneurial venture in San Francisco, CA, where he bought and sold a uniform clothing and accessories company after more than tripling its size. Jason currently resides in a relatively rural part of Pennsylvania where he helps clients manage and grow family wealth.

In the last week of October, attorney Carolyn Betts will join me to discuss our 3rd Quarter theme: Taxation: With or Without Representation?

In Let’s Go to the Movies, I recommend a documentary, The Pushback, which illustrates the pushback that has been happening all over the world as more and more people realize that the events of the last two years have very little to do with a virus.
You can watch The Pushback here.

In Money & Markets this week, John Titus and I will review current events and continue to discuss the financial and geopolitical news to watch for in the last quarter of 2021. E-mail your questions for Ask Catherine or post at the Money & Markets commentary here.

Please join me this Thursday, October 21, for the 3rd Quarter 2021 Wrap Up – Equity Overview & Rambus Chartology.

Talk to you Thursday!
