Our pick for Music of the Week, suggested by Solari Food Series host Pete Kennedy, lives up to its title. “Joy of Life” by The Corrs captures that uplifting blend of lightness, rhythm, and celebration that reflects a firm and grounded happiness—rarely found today, alas. It is a song that feels organic and sincere, spreading contentment and optimism.
The Corrs are an Irish family band made up of siblings, known for their unique ability to merge pop and rock with traditional Celtic influences. Over the years, they have built a reputation for creating songs that appeal to a wide audience while staying true to their roots. The Corrs temporarily disbanded in 2006, after more than 15 years of successful concerts, but in 2015 they returned to continue their popular productions.
Their music often features instruments like the violin and tin whistle alongside modern arrangements, which gives their sound a distinctive identity. In “Joy of Life,” this blend is especially delightful, giving us a song of timeless quality.
