“It is important to understand the push for total control through the weaponization of the financial system.”
~ Catherine Austin Fitts
Governments are moving quickly to roll out digital ID systems that tie together identity, payments, and access to everyday life. In the United Kingdom, we’re already seeing the push to make digital identification mandatory. Once money is fully digitized, every purchase can be tracked, limited, or even denied.
That’s not some far-off scenario. We all need to be acting now to push back against this agenda, which is why we’re excited to announce that the Solari 60-Day Cash Challenge officially starts this week.

Why a Cash Challenge?
Using cash is one of the simplest, most effective ways to push back against the march toward an all-digital financial system. Over the next 60 days, we invite you to make the deliberate choice to pay with cash as often as possible when buying groceries, coffee, gas, when eating out, or with purchases from any brick-and-mortar merchant.
Beyond using cash whenever possible, we also challenge you to consider taking some of the following actions in the next 60 days to raise awareness about using cash and why it’s important to do so.
More Ways to Take Action in the Next 60 Days
- Spread the word: Send this article by Catherine, The Threat of Financial Transaction Control, to five friends and ask that they join you in the challenge to use cash whenever possible for the next 60 days. Even better would be to post the link and encouragement to use cash on one of your social media accounts to reach more people. Tag us when you do on X and Instagram.
- Take a Deeper Dive: Watch Solari’s briefing on Keeping Cash in Circulation: A Key Tool Against the Digital Control Grid to deepen your understanding of the issues at hand. The briefing, held on June 12, 2025, focused on one of the most powerful strategies we have to push back against the emerging digital control grid: keeping cash in circulation. Financial planner Tim Caban opened the session by framing the critical importance of preserving cash as a cornerstone of financial freedom and privacy. Susan Luschas, Tobi Maier, and Elizabeth Murphy then discussed legislative actions taken in various states to protect and promote the use of cash, as well as strategies that have proven effective for building public and political support. They also provided details on model bills that can raise awareness and build momentum.
- Celebrate Cash on Halloween: If you participate in Halloween, check out our “Cash is King” Halloween initiative. For the past two years, inspired by subscriber Susan Luschas’s example, we have promoted Susan’s idea of creating a “Cash Is King” Halloween. Instead of poisoning trick-or-treaters with candy, Susan hands out dollar bills, placing “Cash Is King: Why Pay with Cash?” stickers on each bill. This has made her house one of the neighborhood’s most popular Halloween destinations, prompting the eager trick-or-treaters to run home and tell their parents about the merits of paying with cash. Discover more about the initiative here.

I never ditched cash, I always use and have used it. I see more and more people start using cash. It is the greatest way in knowing your budget at all times, no scares at the end of the month, no oepsies.
Count me in for more then 60 days!
That’s describing me, too in sw Michigan- and our family- cash only AND explaining why whenever I get a chance. In my book, the best way to love our neighbor is to help them keep what they ve earned and retain Informed Commerce. Turtle ON!
Amen to that!
COUNT ME IN!!! I’m almost there..time to go “credit card cold turkey” Janice Witt
Yay! We have been Credit Card ‘Cold Turkey’ for many years. We only use card in case of emergency when we run out of cash. Hardly ever!
BRAVO! Thank you Alexandra.
Count me in too! I also use cash whenever possible and feel more in control of spending. Cash is definitely king!
Thank you Marcia! We can do this!
Hi ,
Thanks so much for this amazing information to use and share.
I had already signed up for the digital ID thinking I had to before renewing my license.
Is there a way you can reverse the digital ID?
Thanks
Yes. If you have a federal ID such as a passport you do not need a Real ID. You can remove the Real ID in most states. We have done several interviews on Financial Rebellion with Twila Brase – she goes through the details including what states will not let you remove. Her website has lots of information. https://www.cchfreedom.org
Our household is in! Committing to spreading the word even more in the next 60 days. Seeing more and more small businesses with signage giving up to 4% discounts for using cash. Will not do business with cash only establishments and make a point to tell them why. We can do this!
Yay! We are seeing more businesses offering cash discounts here as well. We can indeed do this!
You KNOW my family is all in!

In Wisconsin tonight. Great response. Scores more coming in – we are OFF THE COUCH!
Will start using cash and will spread the word. I’m curious, I know you’ve referred to how South Dakota loses $700 million due to transaction fees with credit cards. That just blows my mind in regards to how much money is sucked out of an economy and how easy it would be for everyday people to inject a stimulus into their community by using cash. To your knowledge has anyone done that kind of research about how much money is drained from the economies of other states? I’d be interested in how much money in Arizona is leaving the state due to transaction fees. Any people, groups or resources you can point me to in which to figure this out would be appreciated. Thank you for all that you do!
P.S. we’re still fighting the data center in Tucson, and the powers that be are trying to build data centers from the northern border in Page (https://lakepowellchronicle.com/stories/international-development-company-proposes-10-billion-data-center-for-page,78901), down through the Phoenix area where former Senator Kyrsten Sinema says that “Federal preemption is coming” (https://x.com/brahmresnik/status/1981820306261147780), down through Pinal County (https://azbigmedia.com/business/33-billion-data-center-industrial-park-coming-to-pinal-county/) all the way down to Tucson. To paraphrase the movie, There Will Be Blood, they’re sticking straws into our aquifers and they’re going to drink our milkshake. Just a FYI from on the ground in AZ.
Hi Jon, I backed the South Dakota credit card fee numbers out of retail sales / sales tax numbers. It’s math but it’s not hard.
Here are the stats for Arizona. Capital One has them clearly listed for all states. (I have verified that their numbers are correct for South Dakota, haven’t verified other states)
https://capitaloneshopping.com/research/retail-statistics/#az
Arizona Local Shopping Statistics
Arizona is home to 16,979 stores, including 9,761 local retailers.
Based on collected state sales tax, Arizona retailers made $211 billion in 2024.
Arizona retail employees earn an average of $932 per week.
57.5% of Arizona stores are independent retailers.
7.33% of Arizona small businesses are retailers.
Arizona retail stores collected $11.8 billion in state sales tax in 2024.
*************
73% of nationwide retail sales dollars are from credit card transactions.
https://capitaloneshopping.com/research/cash-vs-credit-card-spending-statistics/
*************
So 73% * $211B = $154B in CC transactions in AZ in 2024.
*************
Then CC processing fee is 2.5% average
https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/small-business/credit-card-processing-fees
*************
So $154B * 2.5% = $3.9B in CC fees paid by AZ in 2024.
*************
AZ has about 7.7M people
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/AZPOP
**************
So $3.9B/7.7M = $500/person/year in CC fees to out-of-state companies from AZ.
PS. I’m guessing our SD numbers are higher per person than your AZ numbers because a larger percentage of our retail sales are tourism (Mt Rushmore, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally) relative to the number of people in our state (1M).
Thank you so much Susan! I appreciate it! I hope you have a great day! 🙂
Joe:
Great!!! Every person who does this adds to the leverage of the ripple effect. I just sent a message to Dr. Skidmore to see if we can get this analysis on different states. Stay tuned.
Wow – good for you for fighting the data centers. Nightmare to think they would drain more water in Arizona.
