  1. Great interview. I can attest to the impact one person can have by serving their community in an elected position. I volunteered to run for my HOA board when I was 32 years old. The average age of the residents in my community is around 70 years old. As far as I know, I’m the youngest property owner. The HOA includes 2,000 properties, a $150m-plus revenue generating resort, a private equity club, and multiple commercial enterprises. I ran for the Board to give back to the community but also to establish connections that could help my business. My first of three years serving on the board was 2020. My fellow board members (the next youngest was 62 years of age) were very scared of COVID and completely bought into the hype. For two years, I was the only one who would stand up for individual rights. When the injections rolled out, the board organized vaccination stations around the neighborhood “so everyone could do their part.” They tried to ban the “unvaccinated” from using community facilities. They wanted to force our employees (we had about 50 employees at the time) to get injected. Half of the employees did not want to. Some of my fellow board members were utterly disrespectful in calling these employees “uneducated hicks” for not wanting an experimental injection of unknown ingredients. I was the only board member who stood up for the employees and I was verbally eviscerated for it. I was the lone young, inexperienced guy on a board full of retired executives, lawyers, doctors, etc. But in the end, the board refrained from requiring our employees to get the injection only because one person stood up for individual rights. As a result, around 25 people (most who were under 30 years of age) were able to keep their jobs and not get the injection. Sometimes it only takes one person to make a difference.

    1. So proud of you James! My heart rate is up just reading your story! Complete nightmare. Fear is critical thinking’s worst enemy.
      You saved lives.
