Happy Christmas to all Solarians,

What are the best strategies that people can use to prevent a data centre from being built? Since one is being proposed in my vicinity, are pointing out the power and water consumption / related price increases to the public the best starting points? I recall a M&M where it discussed a proposed (Virginia ?) data centre that was not interested in disclosing the water usage – a very excellent point to bring up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Very much appreciated. In your experience, would it be worth a persons time to research the company’s background proposing the data centre? If any knows anything about Data District Inc., a division of Swiss asset manager Alcral AG, do share.
Yes. Typically I find very useful. Start with SEC documents in any, check open secrets for political contributions and of course the company’s Annual Report. If they have an SEC 10 K filing make sure you check out all the Exibits and read the proxy, mapping out lead investors.
I could not find a place to post this link and I haven’t verified the information, but it gave me very useful information to check on in my county. It’s for Palm Beach, where I live, but the location can be changed.

Happy Christmas Eve! I was wondering if you could comment on Michael Green’s recent articles? In ‘Part 2: The Land of Milk and “No, Honey”‘…
https://www.yesigiveafig.com/p/part-2-the-land-of-milk-and-no-honey
Michael explains some interesting history (I thought) leading us to some of our present economic predicaments:
The Public Sector Bargain (1962),
The Efficiency Bargain (1982),
The China Bargain (2001)
Also, his earlier discussions about $140K for a family of four is the new poverty line series?

It seems like he accepts the premise…that it’s governments’ job to provide a social safety net (nevermind whether they are exceeding the delineated scope of their granted authorities).
I once again find myself asking “How did the Founders’ generation ever succeed?” and “How did our country become so fruitful?”
Put another way, and to make it simpler to discuss, if we only consider the Federal social safety net (Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid being the big 3)…isn’t paying a bunch of bureaucrats to determine the winners and losers in our society what got us in to this mess (starting with *regressive* Progressivism ca. early 20th Century)? …i.e., the whole problem is ‘Central Planners know better’ than the distributed intelligence of sovereign individuals created in His image…
Then, to make matters worse, we debased our currency to pay for it all…starting a non-virtuous cycle of never-ending Cantillon Effect.
Mr. Green may calculate $140k-as-poverty-line correctly, and seems even to correctly identify the source of most Americans’ rage…but he doesn’t realize the root cause of all these ills (going so far as to sympathize with the Leftists he gently criticizes for relying on emotion rather than intellect)! I found it ironic.
Still, maybe I was missing something…so I provided an email alias (thanks Proton) and began the sign-up process…$10 a month (and more importantly, who knows how much time) to find out if he ever fixes his premise? Meh…no thanks.
Mega rich decide. Bureaucrats do what they are told by the real powers that be- including providing a scapegoat.
Excellent. I read the first one when it came, just read the series thanks to you. He has numerous pieces of the jigsaw puzzle. Does not see how bad the Great Poisoning is. Will post all of them. Thanks for posting.
I originally read it since Solari posted the first in the series. So thank you. Yes, I agree he doesn’t have Omniwar/Great Poisoning in his calculus. And obviously as you replied to Robert McCormick below, his solutions (if they ever became “solutions”) would need to have that factored in as part of reality.
Heat Leakage from U.S. largest Cryptocurrency Mining Facility – Last Tuesday I was sent this link by the ASCE (America Society of Civil Engineers)
This is important and what makes it more urgent is the rapid build out and push for the AI Data Centers.

With reference to the news story on Fentanyl production from India, this report from Rand Corporation coinciding with US withdrawal from Afghanistan
https://www.rand.org/pubs/perspectives/PEA1088-1.html
Pharma food, pharma opium.
prima facie the Rand article suggests that the US 2001 invasion was in fact motivated by the desire to control heroin traffic (the transition to fentanyl “pharma opium” made continued US occupation of Afghanistan economically pointless.)
Yes, was certainly a factor but other resources involved.
Regarding strategic minerals, a retired Army officer writes (paraphrase)–
It’s just not in the headlines. I know a Navy P3/P9 pilot and commander who flew missions over Afghanistan to map out the strategic minerals. My guess is that we made an agreement with the Taliban to keep the strategic minerals coming to us and they would get to rule.
Yes, very likely.
Whenever you guys talk about the push for the control grid, I can’t help but think how much the American elites envy and admire China. Many of these policies seem to be either a direct copy or two or three steps away from the East Asian state-run capitalism economic model.
It isn’t just the American elites, I would say Chinese love is even stronger with the old money European elites, the Middle East elites and WEF crowd. Especially after traveling to China with some of them and seeing it first hand.
There is real tension and a bit of bifurcation among the elites with China now that happened with Obama’s pivot to Asia. Moving the chip manufacturing to continental US and even Venezuela now is part of this new tension. This is prepartion for more of hot war. But many are still tied into China first and it has made the relationship and policy a bit schizophrenic.
Yes, the multiple personality disorder is quite real.
Yes. It is one of the reasons they continue to back the rise of China while depopulating America.
