Floyd Martin retires after nearly 35 years as a mailman.

Floyd graduated from Marietta High School in 1975 and took the postal service test a few years later. By the time they got in touch he already had a job at a bank, but the USPS offered to double his pay. “I was like, OK when you do want me to start?”

    1. Yup. I remember when I was growing up, the Philadelphia paper truck would put a stack of papers on the corner with a bowl on top. We would put in our nickel and take a paper. When all the papers were gone and the bowl was full, the truck would come back and take the bowl full of nickels. This was a modest neighborhood. Everyone worked. No government money. But no one ever thought of stealing the nickels.
