Great News! Howard Switzer and Katey Culver are going to present the history of natural homebuilding on Saturday evening during the open space presentations. Howard and Katey have a thriving business designing homes, including their own home in Perry County, Tennessee.

Hey, Howard and Catherine –
I was part of the green bldg team at the seminar and Howard and Katie put on a fabulous presentation for us with lots of slides that gave us a super overview. I came home eager to use straw (and Katey ‘n Howard)when we build our house next year and hopefully also in a development project now in the works. One of the most surprising things to me, besides the huge increase in energy efficiency and the financial viability, was the variety of styles of architecture that strawbales can be integrated with. I was really surprised by the traditional structures, especially a fine old Southern Plantation house (whose name, I’m afraid I now forget. Just wanted to put in a plug so anyone interested will be encouraged to deepen their interest. Thanks again, the seminar was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Joanna Beresford
