Money & Markets

Who’s Prosecuting the War on People?

On tax day (April 15), Catherine and John argue the Iran war is really a factional “war on people,” highlighting sharply reduced Strait of Hormuz traffic, rising U.S. gas prices, and global cost-of-living stress while oil companies and Wall Street banks profit from war-driven volatility.

  1. Regarding the discussion on Swift/CIPS, Corbett did another podcast on how BRICS is not a savior/BRICS nations mostly just wanted their seat at the table on April 6 (“Multipolar World Order” https://corbettreport.com/the-multipolar-world-order-is-the-new-world-order/). He linked to an MOU between SWIFT and CIPS in which a Swift Chief Executive is quoted as saying “Swift is a global messaging provider supporting more than 150 payment and settlement systems, and CIPS is a payment system. There are natural synergies between global financial messaging services, such those provided by Swift, and payment systems. Working with such market infrastructures is at the heart of our business.” Corbett has also done other podcasts that make clear that people behind BRICS are the same people behind the western banking establishment. His comparison of press releases from these two groups was quite comical.

    1. Excellent. James has done a good job of showing this for years. Will post.

  2. A comment for John and his search for mustard: There are some great recipes for fermented mustard. I like Fermentation Revolution (they’re French-Canadian).

    1. The report does not make sense to me. I asked someone with military experience and he indicated this is not compatible with how the process works.

  3. I’ll be singing Bach’s Magnificat and Vivaldi’s Gloria in a concert in a few weeks. It’s really fun!
I must admit that hate speech never sounded so good. (I’m in Canada, obviously).

  4. Just asking why you take the information about the straights from the Iranians and not the president? That’s a culture that rarely gives truthful statements about anything.

    1. We listen to what governments say. We don’t automatically assume it is true. Can’t imagine why you would think that. If we check it, sometimes their information is accurate. Best sources on checking on Iranian statements so far has been Alastair Crooke, including his republication of Israeli and Middle Eastern press. To date I would say that the Trump administration has one of the lowest accuracy rates yet.
