Our wonderful Culture Scout Nina Heyn has just presented us with another one of her inspiring blogs about the arts. She is reporting from Warsaw, Poland, where the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is currently taking place from October 2-23, 2025.
The famous competition is carried out every five years by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, itself the greatest Chopin center in the world. The event can be followed live on the Institute’s website and on YouTube.
Each year during the summer months, Chopin’s music can be heard in numerous places throughout the city of Warsaw, and since 1959, the most beautiful moments can be experienced for free when distinguished international pianists perform on the outdoor stage next to the Chopin statue in the Royal Baths Park.
For Music of the Week, we delight in featuring a video of the 2023 summer music at the park, together with Nina’s Food for the Soul blog about the 2025 competition. Seeing these scenes of people reclining on a green, sunlit meadow—listening to some of the most exquisite music that humankind has engendered—rekindles hope and profound healing for our future.
