When in 1916 Tamara married Tadeusz Lempicki (pronounced “Wem-pitski”), a Polish nobleman and a lawyer appointed at the Russian Imperial Court in St. Petersburg, it seemed that her future was on a settled course. She would be the beautiful wife of a handsome lawyer and raise her newborn daughter Marie Christine, nicknamed Kizette, in the safety and luxury of the high-society household of her aunt, who was married to a St. Petersburg banker.
Thank you for bringing Tamara to life again! My art teacher during my fashion days introduced me to her original style. I loved to attempt to create fashion illustrations with markers using her sharp/smooth angles of light and bright colors! What a fabulous artist.

She was one of my favorite artists when I was in college. I have to large books of many of her paintings. They have made it through all the moves…including when I went from 10,000 to 1,000 books and the deep state operators stole 2,000 books that we were selling on line. Can you imagine. Very dirty.
